Subconscious
Cruelty
Canada, 2000, Dir. Karim Hussein,
35mm (from 16mm) 80 min. English
Karim Hussein's arthouse gorefest is an an experimental enthology
piece that will offend you in every orifice possible. The most
disturbing Canadian film I have ever seen, but also one that
manages to be poetic and thought-provoking at the same time.

An ultraviolent film that focuses on a group of student terrorists
in 1970's Japan that falls apart when their leader is imprisoned
due to a traitor among them. Finger pointing leads to a crazy
kangaroo court in the woods where they proceed to torture
and kill eachother in the most atrocious ways imaginable.
